If you live in California and are thinking about going all-electric, you have a choice the rest of the nation doesn't, at least currently anyway: the 2023 Mazda MX-30. Mazda introduced the all-electric crossover last year. The 2023 model will arrive in California dealerships this spring starting from $34,110, not including $1,275 destination.

The MX-30 is Mazda's first all-electric vehicle. It plans to debut a larger CX-90 plug-in hybrid at the end of January.

The MX-30 is equipped with Mazda's e-Skyactiv technology along with a 35.5 lithium-ion battery.   Range may be an issue for you, however. Mazda only gave it 100 miles on a full charge. While that number seems low, the MX-30 is really designed for urban commuting.

As we shared in our review of the 2022 model, the MX-30 has unique features like freestyle doors and a floating center console.  Mazda also used sustainable materials on the inside like cork (which also pays homage to Mazda's heritage as a cork manufacturer.
