Great news for Ford Maverick fans who've been wishing for Hybrid variant with all-wheel drive. One is coming soon! Ford recently announced the 2025 Maverick Hybrid will - for the first time - be available with all-wheel drive. A new optional package also doubles towing capacity from 2,000 to 4,000 pounds.
The updates for the 2025 Maverick don't end there. The lineup also receives a new, larger 13.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ford also says new towing technologies are coming in early 2025. All of these upgrades and more, Ford says, were requests from owners.
There are exterior updates, too. The Maverick's dark appearance LED headlamps, the front bumper, and the grille are all redesigned. Higher trims feature LED projector headlamps with LED signature accent lighting. Grilles now vary across trim levels.
A new available Black Package has its own unique grille, black roof, black Ford badges, and 19-inch gloss black wheels.
The Maverick's been a runaway hit since it debuted in 2021. Ford says it's not just drawing customers from other truck brands, but also from other segments entirely, like small cars and small SUVs. Ford also says 60 percent of Maverick customers trade in vehicles from other brands.
Ford cites features such as the Maverick's FLEXBED Storage System and the Ford Integrated Tether System as some of the reasons the Maverick is attracting new-to-Ford and new-to-truck customers. The Ford Integrated Tether System, which allows for 3D print custom parts like charging cord wraps, console dividers, and custom cupholders.
Orders for the new 2025 Maverick and Maverick Hybrid opened on August 1st. Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2024.
