The new 2024 Lexus TX SUV is headed to dealerships this fall. The three-row SUV is "destined to be a smash hit" according to CarPro Show host Jerry Reynolds. You can check out his recent TX 350 review here.

5 Things To Know About The Lexus TX

The TX is first and foremost the automaker's largest-ever SUV with an adult-sized third row.  It will be offered in five grades: Standard, Premium, Luxury, F SPORT Performance Premium, and F SPORT Performance Luxury.  Here are five things the automaker wants you to keep in mind about it's newest SUV.

1. It's roomy with a lot of cargo space.

Lexus says the new TX has "substantial" legroom in all of its three rows. It also has generous cargo space - to the tune of 20.1 cubic-feet behind the third row. There's also accessible storage in all three rows. Plus you get seven charging ports.

2.  You have both gas and electrified powertrain options.

The TX features two electrified powertrains in addition to a standard TX 350 2.4L turbocharged inline-4 engine option. If you want to go the electrified route, you can choose between a powerful V6 plug-in hybrid engine (550h+) and a high-performance 2.4L turbocharged hybrid (500h) exclusive to the F SPORT Performance grade. Both are AWD only and offer DIRECT4, all-wheel-drive technology that launched on the 2023 Lexus RX.

3. It's built here in the U.S.

The TX is made specifically for the North American market and is the first Lexus vehicle to be assembled at Toyota Indiana (TMMI). Since 1996, this facility has been the birthplace of over 7 million vehicles. Lexus says the plant employs more than 8,200 people and also utilizes advanced robotics.  The automaker says the plant’s innovation, commitment to local biodiversity, and community support underscore the TX’s American roots.

4. It delivers ease of handling despite its large size.

Lexus says the new TX incorporates some of Lexus’ early design language that might resonate just a bit more with Lexus owners of the past. With the TX emphasizing aerodynamics and vehicle stability, Lexus says the drivers will notice an ease to the TX’s handling that belies its large size. And the vehicle’s unique shape streamlines its profile, so an elegant silhouette can make a powerful statement without skimping on enhanced efficiency.  A new low-set Lexus “Unified Spindle" grille links the headlights by a narrow aperture beneath the hood.

5. It's not short on technology.

The TX is equipped with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. It includes the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection as well as Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. The Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 also includes Road Sign Assist, Proactive Driving Assist and more.

The TX also comes standard with a 14-inch touchscreen that's home to the Lexus Interface Multimedia System. It's compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.  All powertrains can upgrade to an available 21-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System.
