Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach is kicking off Thursday of this week through Saturday the 15th at the South Florida Fairgrounds.. Highlights include some incredible European sports cars as well as vehicles from the Brian Kelly Collection.
Barrett-Jackson lists some of the most desirable European cars as a 885-horsepower 2018 McLaren 720S, a 2017 Ferrari 488 Spider and two 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS models featuring the Weissach Package with just 80 actual miles.
A silver and black 2018 McLaren 720S is powered by a 4.0-liter M840T twin-turbo V8 engine with an 885-horsepower VF Stage 2 tune mated to a 7-speed Graziano dual-clutch manual transmission. Designed by SWAE Outfitting Company in collaboration with 1016 Industries, it features a full-carbon widebody kit with 200 pounds of weight reduction and 3D-printed Titanium wing mounts.
Powerful Porsches crossing the block in Palm Beach include two highly desirable 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS models, each featuring the Weissach Package and a 2019 Porsche Speedster with only 34 actual miles. The Guards Red 2019 speedster boasts a naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine producing 502 horsepower, paired with a manual 6-speed transmission. Also among the 911s offered is an original condition 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo finished in factory Speed Yellow over a dark gray interior.
“European supercars traditionally feature distinctive designs and performance capabilities that command attention wherever they appear,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “They are a favorite among enthusiasts, especially at our Palm Beach Auction. We have assembled an exemplary and diverse selection of these vehicles for the bidders this weekend in Palm Beach, all of which will be crossing the auction block with No Reserve.”
A 2017 Ferrari 488 Spider powered by a turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The hardtop convertible is outfitted with red brake calipers, carbon-fiber rear air ducts, Daytona-style seats and the Ferrari Cavallino stitched on the headrests. With less than 2,800 actual miles, this Ferrari rides on Rose Gold wheels and is also equipped with a carbon-fiber steering wheel, LED lights, an in/out electric mirror with HomeLink and a premium Hi-Fi system.
Highlights include nine vehicles from the Brian Kelly Collection. They include the iconic, one-year-only body-style 1963 Chevrolet Corvette 327/360 Split-Window Fuelie (Lot #733) that is one of only 2,610 equipped with a fuel-injected engine in 1963.
“Astute collectors worldwide turn to Barrett-Jackson when looking to sell their prized vehicles, and the Brian Kelly Collection is one of several head-turning groupings being offered at our Palm Beach Auction later this month,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “From beautifully restored vintage Americana such as his 1954 Skylark convertible (Lot #684) to modern muscle like a 2022 GT500 Heritage Edition (Lot #762) with just 10 miles on the odometer, Brian’s collection of vehicles selling with No Reserve in Palm Beach will be immensely popular among our bidders.”
The Brian Kelly Collection also features professionally restored C1 and C3 convertibles: a stunning example from 1959 in Snowcrest White with silver coves (Lot #675) and a sleek 1970 model in Classic White with a black soft-top (Lot #371). The 1959 convertible is powered by its original matching-numbers 283ci engine (one of just 1,417 Corvettes so-equipped), which is topped with dual-quad carburetors and backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. The 1970 Corvette has only 34,301 actual miles and is powered by a 350ci V8 engine rated at 300 horsepower, with a 4-barrel carburetor and a 4-speed manual transmission.
A 1954 Buick Skylark convertible received a professional frame-off nut-and-bolt restoration that earned it Best in Class awards at multiple Concours d’Elegance events. One of just 836 examples built for the 1954 model year, this Buick is powered by its matching-numbers 322ci Fireball V8 engine mated to a Dynaflow automatic transmission. This Skylark is finished in Arctic White with red wheel wells and a black convertible top over a red leather interior.
“The Brian Kelly Collection is an impressive and eclectic grouping featuring several iconic and professionally restored cars from the 1950s and ’60s,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “Each vehicle was carefully maintained while in Brian’s stewardship. The collection spans decades and represents incredible examples of some of the best of American and European design and performance. Anyone seeking a significant addition to their collection should join us in Palm Beach to vie for one of these remarkable vehicles.”
European models from the Brian Kelly Collection include a one-owner 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL roadster (Lot #683). The two-tone white roadster includes both a black hardtop and soft-top, and it is powered by its original 2.8-liter 180hp SOHC Straight-6 engine equipped with Bosch fuel injection and mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Contemporary American performance is found in the collection’s 2022 Ford Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition (Lot #762), one of the most coveted Ford-powered cars in modern history. Finished in Brittany Blue with Wimbledon White racing stripes, the muscle car pays homage to the original 1967 Shelby GT500 created by the legendary Carroll Shelby. It is one of roughly 255 Heritage Editions built in 2022 and is offered with only 10 miles on the odometer. A Mamba Edition 2004 Dodge Viper SRT/10 roadster (Lot #434) is car #70 of 200 Mamba Editions built. Power comes from the iconic 500-horsepower 8.3-liter V10 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
