You know what they say about records, they are made to be broken. Barrett-Jackson says its 2024 Scottsdale auction did just that - bringing in a record-breaking $207.6 million overall. That's the most for a single auction event in Barrett-Jackson history according to the auction house.
This year's Scottsdale auction featured Barrett-Jackson's largest docket in company history with 2,016 collectible vehicles that all sold for No Reserve for a total of $200.9 million. Additionally, 1,180 pieces of authentic automobilia sold for $6.7 million.
The top auction sales included a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing that sold for $3.41 million and a 2018 Bugatti Chiron that hammered for $2.97 million.
“It was a tremendous event this week in Scottsdale with our largest docket in history, a record number of bidders, and an impromptu live performance by Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We continue to set the bar within the hobby with record-breaking sales like the 1956 300SL Gullwing, and our top sales reflect both the quality and diversity of our docket with a superb mix of classic sports cars, supercars, pre-war classics and Resto-Mods.”
