The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV is MotorTrends's 2024 SUV of the Year. The new all-electric SUV won the coveted "Golden Calipers" trophy after besting a field of 40 other vehicles. The 10 finalists included the 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale, 2024 BMW X1, 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ, 2024 Chevrolet Trax, 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70, 2024 Honda Pilot, 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2023 Lexus RX, and 2024 Subaru Crosstrek.
Judges evaluated vehicles on six key criteria, including safety, advancement in design and performance of intended function. MotorTrend judges cited the Blazer's engineering excellence, one pedal regenerative braking, design, technology, and cabin layout as attributes of the SUV.
“Chevrolet has truly nailed the design and functionality with the Blazer EV, which looks and operates just as an industry-leading all-electric SUV should,” said Ed Loh, MotorTrend Group head of editorial. “The Chevy Blazer EV offers an effortless driving experience, seamlessly integrates into your lifestyle and boasts user friendliness that's hard to match.”
“We are excited and honored to receive this recognition for the Blazer EV,” said Scott Bell, vice president, Chevrolet. “This vehicle takes convenience and customer choice to the next level, a major step in delivering on Chevrolet’s promise to provide an EV for everyone.”
