The winners are in for this year's Texas Auto Roundup, an event held each spring by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA), a non-profit automotive media organization. (CarPro Show host Jerry Reynolds is a TAWA member who did not attend the event. The CarPro's Amy Plemons is also a member and attended the event.)
Dodge, Genesis and Nissan won the four main title awards. Additionally there were 13 vehicle category awards, 5 calculated awards and three feature awards. Vehicles were evaluated by participating members at the Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas where they were tested either on or off the track, or both. The event was held in late March.
TAWA says the votes were based upon each vehicle's interior, exterior, value, performance and overall personal appeal. Ballots were electronically submitted and then calculated by a third-party accounting firm.
“The Texas Auto Writers Association congratulates all of the automotive partners and members for joining us for this year’s Texas Auto Roundup. We give special congratulations to the title and category winners of the 2024 Texas Auto Roundup; the competition was fierce, and all attending partners made a great showing,” said TAWA President Teia Collier. “Against the backdrop of Eagles Canyon Raceway and Decatur, Texas, we had a unique opportunity to experience and test these world-class vehicles in a variety of conditions. It was exciting and exhilarating to experience that provides confidence that the present and future of automotive are bright."
