Introducing the first-ever Polestar 2. A new all-electric sedan from Polestar, a spin-off from Volvo. I had my first glimpse of the Polestar lineup at the North Texas Auto Show earlier this spring. More recently, I had the chance to drive the Polestar 2 at the 2022 Texas Auto Roundup hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association (of which I am a board member.)
I'm a fan of the Volvo-inspired looks of this luxury sedan - both inside and out - (love its rimless side mirrors). Better yet - I loved its outstanding performance. The instant torque (acceleration) puts an immediate smile on your face. The numbers are impressive 408-horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque.
The vehicle at the roundup, provided by Grubbs Automotive, was equipped with a cool Performance Pack which provided amazing 20” 4-Y Spoke Black Polished Forged Alloy Wheels and yellow Brembo brake calipers. It also includes a panoramic roof made of tinted, laminated glass with a projected Polestar symbol and an amazing 13-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Sound system. A heat pump is available on the Performance Pack.
Seth Levin, Vice President of Marketing for Grubbs Automotive, shows us the Polestar 2's highlights below:
The interior features a large tablet-style touchscreen where you control almost everything including the e-pedal function. Notably, the Polestar is the first vehicle with a built-in Android Auto operating system. Note, Polestar will not offer a leather interior in 2022 as it will be replaced with a sustainable material.
Volvo is well-known for its safety so it follows the Polestar has a long list of driver assistance features, including a speed limiter function as well as semi autonomous Pilot Assist.
Special thanks to Seth Levin at Grubbs Automotive for providing the vehicle at the roundup and for the walkaround!
