I suppose this is a good problem to have if you are an automaker, too much demand for a vehicle. Of course, a lack of parts is contributing to this also. In a first for me, Ford is offering $2,500 to customers willing to change their Bronco orders that can be built, or to those willing to buy or order a different Ford product.
Ford Memo To Dealers
In a memo to dealers last week, Ford, in part, said:
Due to unprecedented circumstances, we will not have enough allocation/commodities to build all of the 2023 model unscheduled verified retail orders that are currently in the order bank. Any unscheduled 2023 Bronco with certain constrained commodities may run the risk of not scheduling in the 23 model year. We recognize the importance of taking care of these customers and to increase the likelihood of scheduling during the 2023 model year, Ford is offering an additional incentive to eligible customers who choose to take one of the following actions.
- Remove all constrained commodities from order.
- Change current Wildtrak orders to alternate trim (Big Bend, Badlands, Outer Banks) with zero of the constrained commodities. Customer cannot change from a 4-door to a 2-door Bronco.
- Cancel 2023 model Bronco order and purchase 2022 or 2023 Ford vehicle in stock (excluding Mach- E, Lightning, & Standard Exclusions).
- Cancel 2023 Bronco order and order eligible 2023 Ford vehicle. Eligible vehicles include 2023 Escape, Bronco Sport, Edge, Explorer, Expedition, Ranger, and F-150 (excludes Lightning).
ELIGIBILITY
- Verified 2023 Broncos with constrained commodities
- Modification Period:
o Customers who choose to modify their 2023 Bronco order must take action by March 7, 2023 o Customers who choose to purchase, lease, or retail order another eligible Ford vehicle and claim programs must cancel current 2023 Bronco order by March 7, 2023. Customers have through April 3, 2023 to claim programs.
2023 Bronco Order Modification Private Offer
- Convert Wildtrak to Big Bend, Badlands or Outer Banks, customers will get $2,500.
- Remove Constrained Commodities customers will get $2,500.
- Order other eligible 2023 unit customers will get $2,500.
- Purchase in stock 2022 or 2023 eligible unit customers will get $2,500.
