Honda is giving us a preview of the all-new 2026 Honda Passport, including the Passport TrailSport, Honda's most capable and off-road focused SUV yet. The lineup will get new off-road capabilities and a new more powerful engine that make the 2026 Passport TrailSport the most capable Honda SUV ever.
Passport TrailSport features specially engineered 18-inch wheels, 31-inch all-terrain tires and bright orange heavy-duty front recovery points. Honda says a substantially shorter front overhang gives it an improved approach angle. TrailSport will also benefit from some new technology including an available new TrailWatch system that has four camera views along with new tire path and vehicle body guidelines.
The TrailSport will also boast a more powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine, high-strength 10-speed automatic transmission and a best-in-class torque vectoring i-VTM4 all-wheel drive system as standard equipment. Honda recently shared a video of its development testing which took place in multiple locations, from the red rocks of Moab to the sandy dunes of western Michigan to the muddy trails of Appalachia.

Honda is also rolling out bunch of new accessories for the TrailSport - the most it says for a new model launch. They include strong and durable rock sliders that can handle the weight of the vehicle (augmenting the TrailSport-standard heavy duty steel skid plates), an aluminum front scuff plate to protect the front fascia from damage, and an extensive new line of available cargo accessories with an overlanding focus, such as MOLLE (modular light-weight load-carrying equipment) storage system integrated into the rear cargo area.
The 2026 Passport lineup will be unveiled later this fall and we won't have to wait long for it to go on sale. It's due to arrive in dealerships in early 2025.
