The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is a triple-winner in this year's World Car of the Year Awards. The all-electric sedan - or as Hyundai also calls it "streamliner" - won the 2023 World Car of the Year title, plus picked up awards for World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design of the Year.

For EV, it won over the Lucid Air and BMW i7. It also bested the Land Rover Range Rover and Lucid Air for World Car Design. A jury of 100 automotive journalists from 32 countries picked the winners.
World Car Of The Year
The Ioniq 6 is following in the footsteps of the Ioniq 5 which was awarded the winner in the same three categories last year.

Ioniq 6 features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, driver assistance systems and advanced connectivity with over-the-air (OTA) software updates, Dual Color Ambient Lighting, Speed Sync Lighting, EV Performance Tune-up and Electric Active Sound Design (e-ASD).
World EV of the Year
IONIQ 6 is the second model in Hyundai's dedicated all-electric lineup brand, IONIQ. It's based on the brand's spacious Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture with 800-Volt ultra-fast charging capabilities. Hyundai says it provides a 10 to 80 percent charge in just 18 minutes.

Hyundai calls the Ioniq 6 one of the most aerodynamic and energy efficient EVs on the market thanks to its ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.21. The automaker says the Long-Range model (77.4 kWh) with a 2-wheel drive (2WD) configuration and 18-inch tires delivers an EPA-estimated range of 361 miles.
World Car Person of Year
Hyundai designer San Yup Lee was named 2023 World Car Person of the Year in part for his role in the IONIQ 6 along with the all-new KONA and the N Vision 74 rolling lab.

Availability
Hyundai says most Ioniq 6 trim levels are available this Spring. The IONIQ 6 SE Standard Range Trim, with a 53-kWh Battery Pack that starts from $41,600, will be available this summer. The SE Long Range trim with the 77.4 kWh battery pack starts from $45,500. Delivery charges for the 2023 model year IONIQ 6 are $1,115. Pricing does not include any available tax State or Federal tax credits.
