Hyundai & Kia never cease to amaze me.  I would have never thought I’d see Kia producing a series of work trucks, but here we are.
Jerry Reynolds, Host of the CarPro Show

Kia is getting into the truck business. But we're not talking heavy-duty, half-ton or even mid-size.  It's developing all-electric "Platform Beyond Vehicles" - essentially work trucks designed for business and personal use.  The automaker debuted its concept lineup at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, and recently brought two of them, the PV5 and PV7 to Work Truck Week.

“Kia’s exciting foray into this important segment of the overall industry represents our steadfast commitment to the electrification of transportation and aligns perfectly with our Plan S strategy to become a global leader in sustainable mobility,” said Steven Center, COO & EVP of Kia America.

PV5

Kia’s says its first PBV concept, the PV5, is optimized for rideshare hailing.  Kia plans to supply the PV5s to drivers on the Uber platform and the two companies recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore new partnership ideas. Kia says the PV5 will be designed to provide customizable delivery services.  The PV5 concept was presented at CES in various versions, including Basic, High Roof, Robotaxi and Pickup. Kia's target date for a U.S. arrival would be in 2026.

PV7

The largest product in the current concept PBV line-up, Kia says the PV7 will be designed with more interior space, impressive all-electric driving range, and enhanced functionality.

Kia says its advanced fleet management solutions will be designed to allow customers to efficiently oversee multiple vehicles and provide real-time logistical insights on sales, inventory, and delivery schedules. Features may include inventory monitoring, temperature control, and intelligent route planning for ultimate EV efficiency. The automaker says the solution is intended to streamline fleet management with real-time data and AI integration for predictive maintenance and optimal efficiency.
