Kia is revealing the first full images of its new all-electric flagship SUV, the EV9, ahead of its full global debut later this month.
All-Electric Kia EV9
Built on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the Kia EV9 sits on a long wheelbase and features a low beltline. Offered in both six and seven-seat formats, Kia says its flat-floor EV architecture makes for a roomy interior and third row along with enhanced comfort.
"The Kia EV9 breaks new ground, aiming to redefine standards for design, connectivity, usability and environmental responsibility," said Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design Center. "The Kia EV9 offers customers an exceptionally high-quality proposition and a fresh EV perspective in the family SUV sector. This new vehicle typology provides instinctive experiences and excellent comfort for not just the driver, but all occupants, through innovative use of space, technology and design."

Exterior
Up front the EV9’s signature ‘Digital Tiger Face’ imparts a visionary and futuristic look and feel. Kia is also introducing new LED daytime running lights. ‘Star Map LED daytime running lights' create a sophisticated animated lighting pattern that Kia says will denote the brand's 'Digital Tiger Face' for the brand’s future EV models.
Designed to be aerodynamic, the EV9's profile features flush door handles and a tapered back roofline. At the tail end, the simple, clean lines of the tailgate are detailed by the slim rear lights that mirror the design of those at the front.
Interior
When it comes to the interior, Kia says designers reimagined what an interior could be focusing on space, comfort and technology for all passengers.
Both first and second-row passengers can recline their seat backs. Second-row seats can also be swiveled 180 degrees so that occupants can interact with people sitting in the third row.
A floating panoramic dashboard extends from the steering wheel to the vehicle's center. Two 12.3-inch touch screens integrated with one 5-inch segment display improve the digital experience, and Kia keeps physical buttons to a minimum.
Stay tuned for more details following the Kia EV9's digital premiere later this month.
