CarPro Show radio host Jerry Reynolds gets a lot of questions from listeners about how long a vehicle will last. Thanks to automotive advancements and improved technology along with drivers typically doing more maintenance on their vehicles these days, Reynolds says some cars can make it to 200,000 miles without any major issues.
But what about 250,000 miles? Researchers at iSeeCars report that the average vehicle has just an 11.8 percent chance of lasting that long. In its 10th anniversary Longest-Lasting Cars study, iSeeCars is sharing a list of the 23 longest-lasting vehicles. (This year, they expanded the analysis mileage from 200,000 to 250,000.) Vehicles on the list have a 20 percent or better chance to reach a quarter million miles or so.
Ten of the vehicles on the list are pickups: the most durable model being the Ford F-350 Super Duty, with a 49.1 percent chance of reaching 250,000-plus miles.
Toyota figures predominately on the list, making up 8 of the 23 models.
As for longest-lasting SUVs, the Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Sequoia and Honda Pilot make the list. Three passengers cars make the list: the Honda Accord, Toyota Avalon and Toyota Camry.
iSeeCars.com says it established its industry-leading Longest-Lasting Cars study in 2013. This tenth anniversary study analyzed over 260 million cars sold between 2012 and 2022 to determine which cars were most likely to survive to high mileages.
