The Los Angeles Auto Show Starts November 18

Los Angeles friends, if you didn't already know it by now, the LA Auto Show opens in just ten days! This year marks the show's 115th anniversary. Show organizers say attendees will be treated to an unprecedented selection of test-driving opportunities in both electric- and gas-powered cars, crossovers, SUVs and trucks. The show runs from November 18-27th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

A global reveal from Subaru is expected during AutoMobility LA, the event for media and industry professionals that takes place just prior to the public show.  North American debuts from Hyundai, Fiat, Kia, Genesis and VinFast are also expected during AMLA.

Focus on EVs

During the public days, the LA Auto Show says it will offer a record-setting number of indoor electrification drive tracks form a wide variety of automakers.

Event organizers say this comes as California reaffirms its position as the country’s leader in EV ownership, according to new info from VELOZ.  The non profit group focused on accelerating the electric car movement cites new data from the California Energy Commission (CEC) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and reports that:

  • From 2011 to 2022, California accounted for 42 percent of the country’s registered EV sales (1,135,387 of the 2,642,028 total)
  • The state currently offers 79,023 EV charging stations.

Add to that, in August, California regulators approved precedent-setting new guidelines mandating that all new vehicles sold within the state be zero-emission by 2035.

“Given California’s leadership position as the nation’s preeminent market for electric vehicle ownership, it’s essential that the Los Angeles Auto Show provides opportunities to experience an expansive selection of new vehicles from the driver’s seat,” said Los Angeles Auto Show President Terri Toennies. “This year’s show will feature more indoor and outdoor driving tracks than ever before, allowing consumers to comparison shop and experience the power, performance and handling capabilities of these vehicles.”

Other Mobility Transportation

Cars, crossovers, SUVs and trucks aren't the only modes of transportation that will be on display. There will also be displays of micro-mobility transportation, think products in urban air mobility, electric scooters, e-bikes, and more.
