When is the last time you've bought a pickup truck? Or just taken a ride in one? Well if it's been awhile, then you're in for a surprise. Because they are far more than just a workhorse these days. The high-end trims are decked out with not just capability, but luxury as well, with the price tag to go with it. This brings us to the 2022 Ram 1500 Limited, currently vying for Luxury Pickup of Texas, an award that will be handed out by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) on November 1st. ( I'm currently serving on the TAWA board.)
The Ram 1500 Limited is the most luxurious Ram model in the lineup with the premium materials to back it up. We're talking real leather and black argent open pore wood in the cabin, along with quality stitching and suede accents. Ram brought two Limited models to the TAWA Texas Truck Rodeo in early October, both 10th Anniversary Editions, but in different colors.
This model also features the Level 1 Equipment Group that adds some safety features along with a Trailer Tow Package and a few other options including chrome power fold trailer tow mirrors. This model's price tag as equipped is $75,710. CarPro Show host Jerry Reynolds has reviewed this very pickup and you can check it out here.
The model pictured below is also a Limited 10th Anniversary Edition, but in an exclusive Patriot Blue Pearl Coat hue with the Ecodiesel engine, which by the way Ram is discontinuing. Here we get a closer look at two features that I think really add to the cabin's premium feel - the leather and wood steering wheel and the multi-textured door panels with quilted leather inserts.
Premium materials extend to the slide and recline rear seat where passengers have their own A/C vents and drop down center armrest. If you, like me, enjoy a dual-panoramic moonroof, you can add it as an option for $1,495.
In terms of the Limited's looks, it features a chrome grille along with other chrome accents and rides on polished aluminum wheels.
The 2022 Ram Limited 10th Anniversary Edition is still listed on Ram's build configurator. For 2023, Ram the luxury of the 10th Anniversary model returns as the Ram Limited Elite Edition which you can read about here.
