Mecum Dallas 2024 is in the books - and a very successful one at that! Mecum reports that the four-day event achieved $47 million in sales, making it the second biggest Dallas auction in Mecum's decade-plus of holding events in the city. A total of 1,656 lots crossed the block at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in early September- of those, 1,218 lots changed hands for a 74% sell-through rate.
From prewar rarities to single-marque collections and perform, the auction had it all all, attracting dedicated collectors. The top seller was from the headlining Paul L. Kelsey, Kelsey Automotive Museum Collection. A 1933 Auburn 12-165 Salon Speedster from the collection nearly hit the $1 million mark, selling for $990,000.
