Each year at this time, I put out a list of the vehicles I reviewed that were the most enjoyable to me or left a major impression on me. I take into consideration all the things I talk about on the CarPro radio show: Value, driving impressions, and overall appeal of the vehicle.
Even with the Microchip shortage, I was fortunate to have something new to review every week, sometimes two vehicles, and many reviewers across the country were shut out.
Still, even with everything going on, I feel like I had a successful year of car reviews, and I will give you the highlights:
- Ford supplied me with numerous vehicles, but the two standouts for me were the Maverick Tremor and the Bronco Everglades, two immensely popular vehicles.
- General Motors sent me the new GMC Yukon Ultimate with the Duramax diesel and the amazing $155,000 Cadillac Escalade-V with Super Cruise, packing 682-horses.
- In luxury SUVs, I had the Lexus LX 600 Ultra Luxury, and I was completely smitten with the all-new 2024 Lexus TX 350, a roomy 3-row SUV at a great price point. The beautiful Genesis GV80 also wowed me inside and out, and honestly it had the prettiest paint job I think I've ever seen.
- I had so many electric cars this year I had to get a home charger. The Audi RS e-Tron was amazing. I enjoyed the Kia EV6, which has won more awards than I can count. The Nissan Ariya electric was fantastic, but the most amazing EV I had was the absolutely stunning Lucid Air Touring. It wowed inside and out.
- Toyota sent me three of their new products, all of which I loved. The Toyota Crown sedan was exceptional, I had the all-new Prius Prime, which is much improved. I also had the all-new and very roomy Grand Highlander and if you look at my review, you’ll see I loved it! Toyota is killing it with a slew of new products.
- A couple of game changers I reviewed were the all-new Chevy Trax SUV, which has been very popular, and the all-new and completely redesigned Mazda CX-90 3-row SUV, a near luxury SUV at a great price point.
