First Look: The New 2025 Ram 1500 Limited

Written by Amy Plemons | Nov 1, 2024 7:30:21 PM

Hello, new 2025 Ram 1500!  Specifically the new 2025 Ram 1500 Limited. I had a change to spend some time with it during this year's Texas Truck Rodeo hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association of which I'm a member.

I remember being at the launch of the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 out in Arizona years ago.  Its redesign, which included a fantastic new rear-coil suspension for enhanced ride quality, was highly praised at the time, and what an evolution the pickup has continued to undergo even since then.

For 2025,  the lineup gets some fantastic updates, including an all-new engine lineup, exterior design tweaks, as well two new models, the RHO and the new top-range Tungsten. I've shared pics of the new RHO here, and written up the Tungsten here with a video. Also new for 2025:  a power open/close tailgate with obstacle detection.

Perhaps the headliner is that the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup features all-new, more powerful and more fuel efficient 3.0-liter Hurricane and 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output (H/O) Straight-Six Turbo (SST) engines. 2025 Ram 1500's with the High Output engine, like on the Limited, are also equipped with a new high-torque rear axle designed to further enhance ride quality.

The Ram 1500 can tow up to 11,580 pounds, with a maximum payload of 2,300 pounds and it can traverse through up to 24 inches of water fording.

Now let's take a look at the new 1500 Limited that was in attendance at the 2024 Texas Truck Rodeo in September.

The Limited model benefits from the top-range new Hurricane H/O SST engine that delivers 540-horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque (Fuel economy is 17 mpg combined.)

Its acceleration and car-like ride quality are both something else. What an incredibly super smooth ride.  (Note, the first-ever Tungsten model adds air suspension.)

Design-wise the 2025 lineup takes on a sleeker appearance that include a new, larger, forward-leaning grille and all-new tail lamps.

The Limited trim comes standard with new premium LED headlights. A new R-A-M badge on all the 1500 trims makes a bolder statement.

The Limited's luxurious cabin is very impressive with its premium leather and open pore real wood veneer trim.  The build quality and craftsmanship is excellent.

The well-designed leather and simulated suede seats are exquisitely comfortable.

The quality leather and wood trim will be very appealing to luxury truck buyers, as will the heated, ventilated and massaging front seats.

You can also get a new optional black/ebony red interior, also with massaging seats.

The Limited features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and standard 12.0-touchscreen. This vehicle upgrades to an available 14.5-inch touchscreen along with a 10.25-inch passenger screen. It also upgrades to include another great feature: dual wireless charging pads in the front row.

Also available, as shown here, a Multifunction tailgate:

Along with the optional Multifunction tailgate, this vehicle is also equipped with the Trailer Tow Group, Bed Utility Group, Level 2 Group and a Tonneau Cover. As driven at the Texas Truck Rodeo, this vehicle has an MSRP of $86,290 as equipped.
