We're been following the rise in catalytic converter thefts for over a year now. It's a huge problem nationwide. It can take less than a minute for a thief to swipe one, prized for its valuable precious metals, from underneath a vehicle.
Now a new security device aims to help vehicle owners protect their vehicles from catalytic converter theft. It's called the Converter Defender. The company says its state-of-the-art alarm system is designed to safeguard vehicle exhaust systems against tampering or theft.
It uses advanced sensor smart technology to detect an unauthorized access or tampering of a vehicle's exhaust system. If the system detects someone is tampering with the exhaust system it will alert the vehicle owner of the potential theft, and also activate a high-decibel 135dB horn alarm designed to scare off thieves.
The company says the durable and weatherproof system can be easily installed on most vehicles without the need for complicated wiring or modifications.
"Our team at Converter Defender is committed to developing an innovative solution to combat the rising catalytic converter theft problem," said Rod Newlove, CEO of Converter Defender. "We understand the frustration and financial burden faced by vehicle owners, and that's why we have designed a comprehensive alarm system that provides robust protection and peace of mind."
