October 2022 National Auto Sales Results

In another sign that inventory is getting more plentiful at car dealerships, sales this October were up about 10%, based on the automakers that still report sales on a monthly basis.

• Toyota sales led the charge with sales up 34% from October 2021.  Camry was up a whopping 68%, while RAV4 was up 40%, and Tacoma was up 44%.  Corolla sales, including the new Corolla Cross, almost doubled from a year ago.
• Ford ended up behind Toyota again with sales down 10%.  The F-Series trucks continues to lead Chevrolet by a pretty substantial margin with just two months to go in 2022.
• Honda continued its 15-month straight sales slide.  Honda has been one of the hardest hit with the shortage of microchips.
• Mazda gained 30% from a year ago, and Subaru was up 32% on the strength of strong sales from the Crosstrek.
