Rivian is expanding its lineup with new mid-size SUVs. The all-electric vehicle maker recently unveiled the R2, R3 and R3X models. They follow in the footsteps of the larger R1.

Rivian says the R2, which seats five, delivers a combination of performance, capability and utility. A powered rear glass fully drops into the liftgate, making it possible to carry all types of gear and enabling a unique open air driving experience. Its interior is designed for ease-of-use, while being uniquely Rivian thanks to its design and premium, easy to clean sustainable materials that include upcycled birch wood trim and materials made from ocean plastic. The R2's first and second row seating fold-flat, for gear, cargo, and even car camping.

Rivian says the R3 midsize crossover delivers performance, off-road capability, passenger comfort, and storage. The R3X performance variant offers even more dynamic capabilities both on- and off-road. Rivian says the R3 demonstrates the scalability of its brand across different form factors while continuing to be distinctly recognizable.
Customers have the option of two battery sizes for each SUV. The larger pack delivers an over 300 mile range and talk about fast: Rivian says it's 0-60 mph time clocks in at under 3 seconds. There are also single and dual motor configurations.
Both the R2 and R3 are capable of DC fast charging.
R2 pricing is expected to start around $45,000 and Rivian says the R3 will be priced below R2, making Rivian vehicles more accessible to more people. Rivian says its teams have been intensely focused on cost through manufacturing, design innovation, and robust supply chain development.
The R2 is available to reserve today in the U.S. for $100. Deliveries are expected to begin in the first half of 2026.
R3 and R3X deliveries will start after R2.
