Talk about a beauty to behold! Last weekend we had our first chance to check out a Kindred Motorworks 1973 Bronco Heritage Edition at the Sewell display at the 2025 North Texas Auto Expo - and what a jaw-dropper! The crowd pleaser was truly a vintage masterpiece - but one that's fully modernized and ready to hit the road.
Sewell, a family-owned dealer group with a number of dealers affiliated with the Car Pro Show, is Kindred Motorworks first-ever dealer partner and exclusive partner in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Customers will be able to buy and get their vehicles serviced at Sewell in Dallas.
“This partnership is a key milestone for Kindred Motorworks as we advance our mission of bringing our vehicles to a wider audience,” said Kindred Motorworks founder and CEO, Rob Howard. “Sewell was a natural choice for us, given its strong presence across Texas and century-long reputation for delivering elite service to its customers.”
Kindred Motorworks, based in the San Francisco Bay area, manufacturers vintage vehicle frames then meticulously restores and modernizes them. Aside from the frame, everything else is new from the exterior to the interior. They are exclusive, too, given Kindred only hand builds one a week.
“We are honored Sewell was chosen as the first dealer partner for Kindred Motorworks,” said Carl Sewell III, Partner and Co-CEO of Sewell Automotive Companies. “Our customers will appreciate the high level of expertise and thoughtfulness that goes into restoring each Kindred vehicle, modernizing the vintage vehicle ownership experience while preserving the vehicle’s classic design. We look forward to pairing the exceptional craftsmanship of Kindred vehicles with our personalized Sewell customer service.”
The partnership with Sewell means customers in North Texas can check out Kindred Motorworks vehicles first hand and also test drive them. The Sewell partnership will initially focus on the V8-powered Kindred Bronco. It will be available at Sewell’s dedicated pre-owned showroom located near the Dallas Love Field Airport on Lemmon Avenue.
“Texas is an important market for us, full of consumers who value high craftsmanship and who have great appreciation for vintage, iconic vehicles,” said Rob Howard. “The Kindred Bronco is the perfect vehicle for this community, and we can’t wait to get people behind the wheel with the help of our partners at Sewell.”
Kindred Motorworks and Sewell have plans to expand availability across Texas. They could also add to the roster of Kindred Motorworks models over time.
With this new partnership, Kindred Motorworks joins twelve other premium brands represented by Sewell. The dealership group operates 20 retail locations across nine cities in Texas, employing over 4,000 associates and generating over 60,000 vehicle sales annually. Over 2.2 million visitors check out Sewell.com each year. You can check out Sewell's Kindred Motorworks web pagehere.
