Special Collection Of Cars On The Block At Barrett-Jackson

If you’ve been around the car business at all in your life, you know who John Staluppi is. 

Staluppi, a world-renowned collector, philanthropist and entrepreneur, will sell dozens of vehicles from his prized Cars of Dreams Museum during Barrett Jackson's 2022 Palm Beach Auction, April 7-9, at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Barrett-Jackson describes Mr. Staluppi's diverse selection of vehicles as one of the most desirable collections in the world.  All selling with No Reserve, those consigned to this year’s Palm Beach Auction range from 1930s hot rods and restored classics from the ’50s and ’60s, to impeccably built Resto-Mods and contemporary collectibles such as a Race Red 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition, shown above, with 295 actual miles and one of only 250 produced.

Staluppi, a long-time car collector, is also known for his empire of auto dealerships and collection of superyachts. He's also no stranger to the Barrett-Jackson auction, auctioning more than 140 of his collector vehicles at Barrett-Jackson’s 2018 Palm Beach Auction.  At this year's auction, he’ll send more than three dozen vehicles across the block and also auction as many pieces of his famed automobilia collection..

The vehicles crossing the block include a fully restored1957 DeSoto Adventurer, one of only 300 produced and finished in factory gold with white accents. It's powered by a 345ci HEMI V8 with dual 4-barrel carburetors mated to an automatic transmission and equipped with power steering, power brakes, tan leather interior, power seat and power windows.

A 1967 Shelby GT500 finished in its original color of Brittany Blue Metallic is one of only 438 built in this specific color. This Shelby underwent a comprehensive ground-up restoration and still retains its original sheet metal and fiberglass, as well as its original wood steering wheel and green line gauges.

• 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz powered by a LQ9 2012 ESV engine with Holley Terminator electronic fuel injection and a 4L65E transmission. One of only 815 built in 1958, this custom Eldorado has undergone a rotisserie restoration and features a power top, power steering, power windows, Wilwood disc brakes, dual exhaust, a digital dash with updated speedometer and black leather interior.
• 1967 Chevrolet Corvette finished in PPG Classic White with a red Stinger hood and full custom leather interior. The result of a 2-year build with test miles only, this Corvette sits on a Coffman chassis and C6 suspension while being powered by its 5.7-liter V8 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
• 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Roadster powered by a 6.2-liter LT1 GM Performance crate engine with an Edelbrock supercharger mated to a 4L65E automatic transmission. Finished in PPG special-mix Charcoal Metallic, this Corvette features custom-built fiberglass panels under the hood, custom headlights, Ringbrothers door handles, custom side mirrors, custom mesh grille, LED taillights, a raised tilt steering column, custom Dakota Digital gauges and a custom-built Al Knoch interior with leather reclining seats.
