In what's most certainly a sign of the times, Stellantis and Nissan are the latest automakers to extend their Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) programs. Following in the footsteps of Honda/Acura earlier this year, both are now extending their programs to include model year vehicles up to 10 years old.
Stellantis' new CPO Go Program (announced October 5, 2022) extends its CPOV program by five years. It allows customers to buy certified Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram or FIAT vehicles up to ten years old and up to 120,000 miles. Previously, the CPOV program only included models up to five years old and up to 75,000 miles.
“With more buyers keeping their vehicles longer, our new extended offering allows our owners an added degree of confidence when purchasing one of our certified pre-owned Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, Jeep or Ram brand vehicles,” said Jeff Kommor, head of U.S. sales for FCA. “Our CPO Go program is extremely competitive in the marketplace, offering certified warranty upgrades that will cover the certified pre-owned vehicle up to nine years after original in-service date."
Every CPO Go vehicle goes through a rigorous 125-point inspection. They are also backed with a new extended factory three-month/3,000-mile Mopar maximum care limited warranty. It includes full mechanical coverage with a $100 deductible. Coverage starts on the date of the certified purchase and continues for three months or 3,000 miles, whichever occurs first, and covers most vehicle mechanical components (more than 5,000 parts).

Nissan, too, is expanding its Certified Pre-Owned program (announced October 12, 2022) with Certified Select. The automaker says the program includes Nissan and select non-Nissan pre-owned vehicles up to 10 years old/up to 100,000 miles. It's the first time Nissan's included non-Nissan pre-owned vehicles in its CPO program. Customers can now find them listed on Nissan@Home.
“As pre-owned vehicle sales continue to outpace those of new vehicles in the marketplace, Certified Select allows our trusted dealerships to offer more high-quality options for shoppers,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, eCommerce, Nissan U.S. “And we’ve further committed to customer satisfaction by offering a seamless online purchase option and a complimentary maintenance visit.”
Every Certified Select vehicle receives an 84-point inspection and comes with a 6-month/6,000-mile limited warranty and roadside assistance, plus one complimentary maintenance visit within the first year of ownership.
The Nissan Certified program for eligible Nissan models up to 6 years/80,000 miles is unchanged, and continues to include a 167-point inspection, a 7-year/100,000-mile limited warranty and two complimentary maintenance visits.
