Exciting news for Dodge Hemi fans heading into 2025. The automaker recently announced that Durango Hemi production will continue for the 2025 model year, after all. The reversal comes after Dodge had earlier announced that production would end this year. It also comes not long after Dodge brand CEO Tim Kuniskis stepped back into his role in early December.
What this all means is that the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, powered by the 710-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine, and the Durango R/T, equipped with a 5.7-liter HEMI will continue to roll down the production line. The move to continue production is, according to Dodge, due in part to market demand and customer feedback.
“The Dodge Durango and the HEMI engine form a powerful pair, and Dodge will continue to produce the most powerful gas engine SUV on the planet into the 2025 calendar year,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO – Stellantis. “It’s the perfect capstone for our celebration of 20 years of HEMI-powered Durango models.”

Dodge shared the big news during 20th anniversary celebrations for the Durango-fueled Hemi. It's also when Dodge introduced four special-edition models: the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Brass Monkey, Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead, Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet and Dodge Durango R/T 20th Anniversary edition.
Dodge first ramped up full production of HEMI-fueled Dodge Durango models in 2004.
