Auto sales were down close to 12% in February. However, SUVs remain one of the bright spots, at least from the automakers that report sales monthly.
In the small SUV segment, RAV4 finished first again, but instead of the CR-V coming in second, the Mazda CX-5 finished in the #2 position with the CR-V pulling up third place. In fact, the new Mazda CX-5 was up 116%. All small SUVs combined were up for February.
In mid-sized SUVs, this segment was up from February 2021, also. As usual the Highlander came in #1, the 4Runner came in a distance second, and the Ford Bronco Sport came in 3rd.
