This is one of the more popular segments in the auto industry, and will likely remain that way if gas prices remain high. It is obvious the microchip shortage has had a big effect on most of the top 20 small SUVs over the first three months of 2022.
Congrats to Mazda for a big increase in the CX-5, and to Mitsubishi for the Outlander, which is up a huge 218%. Honda showed big progress with their smallest SUV, the HR-V.
This is usually a very close contest between Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, but so far, it is a runaway for Toyota. The race for second place, however, is tight between CR-V and Chevy Equinox.
