Another exciting Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale is in the books - with sales this year exceeding $190.6 million total. Barrett-Jackson says its flagship auction, which kicks off the 2023 auction calendar, also raised $1.89 million for charity with the sale of five charity vehicles, surpassing a $150 milestone in proceeds the auction house has raised for charities.
Here are some other fun facts from the 2023 auction:
- Average sale price of more than $96,000 per vehicle
- More than 1,100 pieces of authentic automobilia sold for more than $6.41 million.

Super Saturday Highlights
Barrett-Jackson says dozens of sales records were shattered and over 300 amazing vehicles crossed the block on Super Saturday January 28th. A 2020 Ford GT Carbon Series, was the first vehicle to reach — and surpass — the million-dollar mark, selling for $1,320,000.
Additional showstoppers joining the million-dollar-plus club:
- a 1989 Ferrari F40 sold for $2,750,000
- a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT for $1,595,000
- a 2019 FORD GT sold for $1,320,000.

The 1966 Shelby Group II Mustang built for Ken Miles sold for $770,000, as did a Jeff Hayes-built 1967 Chevrolet Corvette custom convertible and a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

- 2012 Lexus LFA, which sold for $748,000
- 2021 Ferrari SF90 ($742,500);
- 2019 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ ($671,000)
- 1997 Porsche 993 Turbo ($605,000)

- 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 ($605,000).
Super Saturday Charity Vehicles
2024 GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1, VIN 001 - $500,000

The sale of the first retail production 2024 GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1, VIN 001 brought in $500,000 — with 100% of the hammer price benefiting Tread Lightly!, a non-profit organization that educates people on how to recreate responsibly while adventuring in the outdoors with any type of motorized vehicle.
Side note: GMC says reservations of the GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 SUV are currently full. Initial production begins in early 2023
General Colin L. Powell’s 2015 Chevrolet Corvette - $200,000
The late General Colin L. Powell’s 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray sold for $200,000 on Saturday, with 100% of its hammer price benefiting America’s Promise Alliance, the organization General Powell founded and chaired for decades to help America’s youth. Powell’s son, Michael, former chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, joined Craig Jackson on the block to introduce the vehicle.
2024 Ford Mustang GT VIN 001: $490,000
Vin 001 of the all-new 2024 Ford Mustang GT sold for $490,000 with an additional $50,000 donation from San Tan Ford and an additional $25,000 donated by Michelle Mauzy, noted philanthropist and longtime member of the Barrett-Jackson family, bringing the total to $565,000. The entire amount benefitted JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

Barrett-Jackson Cup winners
The Barrett-Jackson Cup winners were also announced Saturday from a field of nearly 50 incredible custom vehicles hand-selected for the competition. Hot-rod builder Bobby Alloway and automobile designer and builder Troy Trepanier selected the Top 5 finalists and the Ultimate Best of Show winner. Taking the coveted and prestigious Ultimate Best in Show Award — and a $20,000 prize — was a 1969 Pontiac Firebird built by Troy Gudgel at BBT Fabrications and owned by Brad Sather. A 1964 Buick Riviera built by Cruzer’s Customs, LLC., received the People’s Choice Award, which was chosen by thousands of Barrett-Jackson’s fans who voted online.
Automobilia Auction
Highlights of the Automobilia Auction on Saturday included a 1942 17-foot Chris-Craft Special Runabout “Woody” boat bar, which sold for $120,750; followed by a magnificent circa 1940s-50s Carriage Motors animated neon porcelain sign for $86,250 and a huge 1950s Woody Woodpecker porcelain with neon sign for $80,500.
