Happy 25th Anniversary to the Toyota Highlander! To mark the milestone, Toyota is introducing a special model: the 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid 25th Edition. Production will be limited to 2,500 for the U.S. market.
For a bit of history, the 2001 Highlander debuted in the April of 2000. It was Toyota's first midsize SUV built on a platform that was shared with a car, the Toyota Camry.
With its car-like ride, elevated ride height and spaciousness, the 2001 Highlander ushered in a new era for the brand in the segment. Its car-like ride, elevated ride height and spaciousness proved to be a hit with consumers. Toyota says more than a million Highlanders sold in its first seven years of production.
Based on the Highlander Hybrid Limited AWD grade, the 25th Edition showcases many of the best features available in the Highlander family. Unique exterior features include 20-inch alloy wheels, along with silver-tone front and rear bumpers, and side rocker panels with chrome-plated lower trim. It's available in two colors: Wind Chill Pearl and a new-to-the-lineup Heavy Metal hue. Tailgate badging includes unique 25th Edition logos.
Inside, leather-trimmed seating for up to seven is in a new Portobello color. 25th Edition logos adorn the driver and passenger headrests.
The Limited 25th Edition comes with premium goodies like puddle lamps, illuminated door sills, carpet floor mats and all-weather rear cargo liner, key glove, and rear liftgate badge that all carry the 25th Edition logo.
You get the Highlander lineup's top tech and audio features as well. They include a 12.3-inch color digital gauge cluster, 11-speaker JBL Premium audio system, and 12.3-inch touchscreen with the latest Toyota Audio Multimedia system.
Other standard goodies include three zone automatic climate control, a Panoramic View Monitor and Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+.
Additional 2025 Highlander lineup updates include standard Electronic On-Demand All Wheel Drive for Hybrid models. The new-to-the-lineup Heavy Metal exterior color is available on the HEV XLE, Limited, Limited 25th Edition, and Platinum models , as well as the 2.4L Turbo XLE, Limited, and Platinum grades. The XSE 2.4L model also adds a new Cement color. The 2.4L Turbo XSE also adopts a 12.3-inch Digital Gauge Cluster with a Sport Mode startup screen. Additionally, Hybrid powered models now feature Beyond Zero HEV rear badging.
