Toyota Tundra, Genesis GV70 Win Top Texas Truck Rodeo Awards

The results are in from this year's Texas Truck Rodeo - an annual event held by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). This year's two top title winners: the Toyota Tundra, which was named Truck of Texas for a second consecutive year, and the Genesis GV70 which won the SUV of Texas title.

This year's event, held in late September at the Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas, brought TAWA member journalists together from across the state and beyond. They evaluated vehicles based on their interior, exterior, value, performance and overall personal appeal. Brands in attendance included: Acura, Genesis, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Mazda, Nissan, Ram, Toyota, Nissan, Polaris, Volkswagen and Wagoneer all brought vehicles to the event. Some vehicles were on-road only.

We are delighted to give special congratulations to the title and category winners of the 2024 Texas Truck Rodeo,” said TAWA President Teia Collier. “To experience these world-class vehicles at Eagles Canyon Raceway is a great opportunity to see what the next generation of vehicles can do.”

Along with the two title awards, top honors were handed out in 11 additional category awards. There were also two feature-based awards and 5 calculated merit awards.
