United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain says the UAW's mission remains the same, despite the outcome of the recent Presidential election.  Last week, Fain shared a statement to members regarding the election of President Trump. It reads in part:

"...while it’s not the outcome our union advocated for, and it’s not the outcome a majority of our members voted for, our mission remains the same. We must raise the standard of living for our members and the entire working class through unity, solidarity, and working-class power. No matter who is in the White House."- UAW President Shawn Fain

You can read Shawn Fain's entire message to members on the UAW website here.

The United Auto Workers endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for President in July. Harris and running-mate Tim Walz met with UAW leaders in August. In October, the UAW said the results of its poll showed member support for Harris growing significantly in battleground states.  The UAW said its most ambitious political program in decades had engaged 293,000 active and retired members, as well as their families, in battleground states.  The UAW said its comprehensive outreach program had been crucial in building support for Harris. Along with its phone, text and mail program,  in Michigan, a door-to-door campaign reached over 200,000 union households.
