The wait is finally over for the first-ever 2025 Lexus LX hybrid! It's a new addition to Lexus' flagship LX lineup for 2025, which also marks the 20th anniversary of the luxury SUV's debut. Also new for 2025, the adventure-oriented Overtrail grade.
The 2025 LX is offered as the 600 and 700h - and each can tow up to 8,000 pounds. There are five grades to choose from: Premium, F SPORT Handling, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and the aforementioned Overtrail. This makes the LX the only vehicle in the Lexus lineup to offer both F SPORT and Overtrail.
First-ever LX Hybrid
The LX 700h's 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain is paired with a 10-speed Direct Shift Automatic Transmission, shared with the LX 600. The hybrid system produces 457 horsepower, 583 lb.-ft of torque, and an improved EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 20 MPG. The battery is located under the luggage compartment for two-row configurations, and beneath the third-row seat for three-row configurations.
Tweaks were made to the LX's GA-F Platform for the 700h to accommodate its extended length and increased weight. Lexus says they also increase body rigidity and improve on-road handling. The cab mount cushions attaching the body to the frame have been completely redesigned. Lexus says by strengthening the joint rigidity during frame and body twisting, low-frequency vibrations have been significantly reduced. This enhancement maintains the vehicle’s inherent advantages, such as high durability and excellent road noise insulation, while delivering a responsive and more refined ride.
Water fording up to of 27.5 inches is no problem for the LX 700h. A waterproof structure encases the hybrid main battery within a waterproof tray divided into upper and lower sections. This design helps prevent water ingress during deep water crossing. In the unlikely event that water does enter the tray, Lexus says a water sensor positioned inside will detect it and alert the driver through a meter display.
The new Overtrail grade takes the LX's off-road capabilities up a notch with additional features and equipment for outdoor adventures. It's offered in an exterior color Earth and, inside, Black or Stone Brown semi-aniline leather-trim on the seats and door panels with Stone Brown stitching and Black Open Pore wood accents on the center console and door panels.
In addition, Overtrail adds front and rear locking differentials, a 2,400W AC inverter, and off-road all-weather floor liners. It rides on 33-inch All-Terrain tires and 18-inch wheels, and also features a front skid plate, and an appearance package, featuring a matte gray grille, black door handles, dark gray roof rails, dark chrome-finished window, and bumper trim, and black overfenders.
The Overtrail grade is available on the LX 700h in either a two or three-row configuration.
The 2025 Lexus 700h starts from $115,350. To find out more about the 2025 Lexus LX click here.
