If the Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer models just aren't big enough for you -- enter the "L" models. New extended, long-wheelbase versions of the iconic nameplates that returned to the road last year. The L models recently made their debut at the New York International Auto Show, along with a new Carbide trim and new Hurricane twin-turbo engine family.
“The all-new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are off to a great start, and we’re always striving to give customers even more of what they want,” said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “The new Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L long-wheelbase models give our customers more: a more efficient and more powerful powertrain with the all-new Hurricane twin-turbo engines, and even more space, delivering best-in-class overall passenger volume, second-row legroom and cargo volume behind the third row, all while maintaining best-in-class towing capability of 10,000 pounds and a rewarding driving experience that is confidence-inspiring.”
The L models seat up to eight and are 12 inches longer overall (226.7 inches) than the standard-wheelbase models. The longer 130-inch wheelbase adds 7 inches compared to standard wheelbase. This end result is a lot more cargo space behind the third row: 44.2 cubic feet, which is +15.8 cubic feet over the standard wheelbase.
Wagoneer L comes standard on 18-inch wheels, with 20- and 22-inch wheels available. Grand Wagoneer L models come standard on 20- or 22-inch aluminum wheels. Both models offer a choice of three available 4X4 systems along with a best-in-class towing capability of up to 10,000 pounds.
