Wards Auto is sharing its 2023 10 Best Interior and UX winners list. The awards, which were combined last year, recognize vehicles that have impressed editors with both their interior quality and innovative technology.
Wards Auto says it started out with an initial nominee group of 35 vehicles then evaluated 21 of them on the road before narrowing it down to the 10 Best. Editors say the winners all have excellent interior design, high-quality and distinctive materials, good fit-and-finish and comfortable seating, as well as in-vehicle technology that excels in its appearance and user-friendliness.
Brands on this year list: BMW, Cadillac, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover and Nissan. (BMW, Ford, Genesis, Jeep and Kia also made the cut last year.)
This year a record-setting six winners are electrified vehicles, five of them all-electric and one a hybrid. The BMW i7 is also the only sedan to make the list.
Wards Auto says the battery-electric vehicle winners feature outside-the-box design cues and technologies. We're talking things like electric-powered doors that open and close on demand, giant, high-resolution display screens, unique gear selectors, cool graphics and beautiful ambient lighting.
Three non-electric models made the list:
These vehicles wowed Wards Auto editors with their quality leathers and circular knit or faux suede headliners, along with the comfortable seating, spaciousness and fun interior tech.
