CRASH, FIRE RISK
- Defective fuel pump part can cause fuel leak; fuel smell while idling or driving; and risk of fire, crash, or injury.
- Authorized Honda dealerships will perform a free inspection and, if necessary, replace the high-pressure fuel pump
- American Honda has not received any confirmed reports of crashes or injuries related to this issue
October 15, 2024 - American Honda will voluntarily recall approximately 720,000 2023-2025 Honda vehicles in the U.S. for a free inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump if the inspection indicates the presence of a defective part.
Due to a defective high-pressure fuel pump core, cracks may form inside the fuel pump. During vehicle operation, these cracks can grow, leading to possible fuel leaks; fuel smell while idling or driving; and the risk of fire, crash, or injury.
Registered owners of all affected models will be contacted by mail in December and asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer for a free inspection. The dealer will replace the high-pressure fuel pump if it is found to be defective.
American Honda is announcing this recall to encourage owners of affected vehicles to take them to an authorized dealer for repair as soon as they receive notification. Owners of these vehicles can also determine if their vehicles require repair by visiting www.recalls.honda.com, or by calling (888) 234-2138.
