BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2009-2012 X5 xDrive35d, 2008-2012 X6 xDrive35i, X6 xDrive50i and X6 M, 2007-2012 X5 30si, X5 xDrive30i, X5 xDrive35i, X5 48i, X5 xDrive48i, X5 xDrive50i and X5 M and 2010-2011 X6 ActiveHybrid vehicles equipped with non-desiccated, passenger frontal air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSPI-2) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

Remedy

BMW will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger front air bag, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 6, 2020. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

Remedy

BMW will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver air bag. On X5 and X6 vehicles, only the inflator will be replaced. All repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 6, 2020. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

Remedy

Summary

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2007-2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 vehicles equipped with non-desiccated, passenger frontal air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

Remedy

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflators, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 24, 2020. FERRARI

Summary

Ferrari North America, Inc. (Ferrari) is recalling certain 2009-2011 California and 2010-2011 458 Italia vehicles equipped with non-desiccated, passenger frontal air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

Remedy

Ferrari will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag assembly with an alternate one, including a new non-ammonium nitrate inflator, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 9, 2020. Owners may contact Ferrari customer service at 1-201-816-2668. Ferrari's number for this recall is 60FL.

Summary

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2001-2003 Maxima, 2002-2006 Sentra, 2002-2004 Pathfinder, 2007-2011 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback, 2001-2004 Infiniti I30 and I35, 2002-2003 Inifiniti QX4, 2003-2008 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 and 2006-2010 M35 and M45 vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with non-desiccated, frontal passenger air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

Remedy

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflators with alternate desiccated inflators, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 10, 2020. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 888-737-9511 or Infiniti customer service at 888-810-3715.

Summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018-2019 4Runner, Highlander, Camry, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma and Tundra, and Lexus RC 300, RC 350, GS 350, GX 460, IS 300, LC 500, LS 500, LX 570, RX 350, and 2019 Toyota Avalon and Corolla, and Lexus NX 300, ES 350, and GS 200T vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Remedy

The remedy for this recall is still under development. The recall is expected to begin March 13, 2020. Summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2011-2019 Corolla, 2011-2013 Matrix, 2012-2018 Avalon, and 2013-2018 Avalon Hybrid vehicles. During certain crashes, the air bag electronic control unit (ECU) may malfunction, possibly disabling the deployment of the air bags and/or seat belt pretensioners.

Defect Notice

Remedy

Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ECU and install a noise filter between the air bag control module and its wire harness, as necessary, free of charge. PLANO, Texas (January 21, 2020) � Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain vehicles equipped with a potentially affected Takata-produced single-stage non-azide front driver airbag inflator:

• 1998�2000 Model Year Toyota RAV4
• 1998�1999 Model Year RAV4 EV
• 1998�1999 Model Year Celica
• 1997�1998 Model Year Supra

Approximately 139,000 vehicles in the United States are involved in this recall.

The subject vehicles are equipped with a front driver airbag with an inflator made by Takata. According to information provided by Takata, the airbag may not deploy properly. This could result in abnormal deployment of the airbag or the chance of an inflator rupture. If an abnormal deployment or inflator rupture occurs, this could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.

Toyota is currently investigating the remedy for this issue and will announce it once available. Toyota will notify owners via first class mail by late-March.
