The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the automaker must recall 5.9 million vehicles with Takata Airbag Inflators. The action comes after the NHTSA rejected the automakers petition to avoid the recall. The vehicles part of the recall involve 2007 and 2014 trucks and SUVs due to inflators at �risk of the same type of explosion after long-term exposure to high heat and humidity as other recalled Takata inflators." GM says it will comply with the order.
