This week we shared the latest pickup truck sales numbers for the first quarter of the year. We know that Ford is in the lead with the F-Series, followed by Chevrolet and then Ram.
Now we turn to iSeeCars for a look at which states have the highest share of pickup trucks. Researchers says that Wyoming has the largest share - over twice the national average. At the opposite end, New Jersey has the lowest share with half of the national average.
Texas has the highest volume of truck sales yet ranks 23rd in share of pickup trucks.
iSeeCars says pickup's have surged in popularity due to both their capability and versatility. Researchers say they're not just work vehicles any more and these days serve as family haulers thanks to improvements in comfort and safety. Case in point: Researchers say the top three most popular cars are pickup trucks.
Pickup trucks account for 16.7 percent of all vehicles on the road, though they are far more popular in some states than others.
