October 11, 2024
Dear Car Pro Family,
I hope all is well and that perhaps a hint of fall is in your air. As I told you on the Car Pro Show last Saturday, the incentives for October were a real shocker they were so good. Just a reminder, our Incentive Section below is always your go-to to find out what free money you can get from the automakers.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the people in Florida as they grapple with the second major hurricane in as many weeks. We are not on the air there anymore, but still have lots of podcast and live listeners through our website, and many newsletter subscribers. We wish you a safe and speedy recovery. Many of you will be replacing cars and I encourage you to spend some time at my FAQ page if you find yourself needing help. Also, if your car does get totaled, be sure to read my FAQ article on dealing with an insurance adjuster, they’ll want to close claims quickly and mistakes will be made.
We kick off today with a public feud between Stellantis and the UAW. I have some commentary on this, along with what the automaker had to say to the UAW President, and then Stellantis filed a lawsuit against them. This will be one to watch in the coming weeks. I have a summary of the 3rd quarter auto sales, and you’ll see that car payments are up, and the loan terms are longer. This is a bad combination for the future.
Ford debuted the new 2025 Expedition last week here in Dallas, and you have to see this beauty! Speaking of big SUVs, the very first electric Cadillac Escalade IQ is being auctioned this weekend at Barrett Jackson Scottsdale and I have the TV schedule for you. It is the time of year where people have to really look out for animals, especially deer. I have good info for you on this below. Also, a new study finds that big in-vehicle screens and functionality appeal to young families and multitaskers.
Be sure to check out our all new Car Pro Merchandise and don’t miss Kim Komando’s very useful Tips of the Week. She had a lot of really great ones this week, and as always, I encourage you to subscribe to her terrific and very useful newsletter that you’ll get seven days a week.
In advice today, I walk you through the very different roles played by automakers and dealers. People seem to think a dealer and the manufacturer are the same and this simply isn’t true. Self-employed and business owners, our annual guide to Tax Code 179 is below and it could save you tens of thousands of dollars.
In reviews, I have the all-new 2024 Chevy Traverse RS 3-row SUV. Our Amy Plemons brings you a full review of the 2025 Mazda CX-70, a bigger-than-usual 5-passenger SUV with a lot of room inside. She has the Turbo S Premium Plus model, and it’s a beauty!
Plus, lots of other information you will enjoy, including our videos of the week we talk about on the air all the time! If you have never been to our FAQ page, take a minute and peruse the categories, something there will interest you for sure.
You’ll find the following stories and more info as you scroll down the newsletter:
We so appreciate all of you who take this newsletter and listen to the show every week. We know that without you, there is no Car Pro Radio Show. So always let us know when we can help you. If you have not been there lately, take a look at our website, www.carpro.com, it changes all the time!
Have a terrific week. See you on the radio!
