This week I bring you the 2025 Audi Q7 Prestige. The three-row SUV arrived in the U.S. back in 2007, and its last major refresh was in in 2020 after being all-new for 2017. Yes, that was a while ago. But thanks to a freshened exterior for 2025, somehow the Q7 can get away with it. It looks stylish, modern and utterly appealing. Something I must applaud Audi designers for (enter applause),
Design updates for 2025 include new front and rear fascias, a tweaked front lower spoiler and designers also reshaped the diffuser in the rear which now has new functional exhaust tips. The 2025 model also benefits from Audi's new badging strategy - that being the model, derivative, and technology identifier is now laser etched into the B pillar.
My test vehicle wears a gorgeous Samurai Gray Metallic hue. I am also all about the Black Optic package that takes things up a notch with stunning matte gray finish 21-inch 5-spoke wheels, anthracite Audi rings, black exterior trim and dark chrome exhaust tips. This Audi just could not look any better.
The Prestige package also nets some exterior upgrades like HD matrix-design LED headlights with Audi Laser Light, a headlight washer system and wonderful power soft closing doors.
Powertrain
The Q7 55 is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 that delivers 335-horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It's also equipped with Quattro all-wheel drive. Power feels great in this 5,000+ pound SUV. It would have to, given Audi's 0-60 time is 5.5 seconds. A smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission comes with paddle shifters. The Q7 has an energy recuperation system that utilizes kinetic energy during braking. It also features start/stop technology.
The Q7's modern and tech-focused interior is every inch the Audi you expect. It's very roomy, well-designed and expertly crafted down to the impeccable stitching. It's luxurious in a sporty, refined way without being opulent. High quality switchgear and high-gloss Gray oak wood inlays look upscale and soft-touch materials abound.
The Prestige features a really fabulous Valcona Crickett leather interior. The contour seats feel amazing. The front seats are heated and ventilated, and even better, both have a massage seat function. I'm not sure how many passenger seats out there get this perk.
A three-spoke steering wheel looks and feels great. Audi's 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit Plus continues to be one of my favorites in the industry. The graphics are fantastic and you can display a map full view. I also love the font type and size, and the entire display is bright and easy to read. The entire thing is just stellar.
You don't see a lot of two-screen center displays these days, but you do in here. And I am a fan. The haptic feedback dual-display stem works great. The top display runs the infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and also displays the outstanding navigation system. It's also where you find drive modes. The lower display is where you control climate functions.
New for 2025, the Q7 gets expanded connectivity. Owners can now connect to popular apps from third-party providers such as Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, and many more through the available Audi App Store.
The sleek center console is on the wider side and a mix of glossy black and silver trim. I am a fan of Audi's gear shift knob, too, it's ergonomic and fits my hand well. The P for Park is perfectly placed with your thumbs reach. The wireless charger is hidden in the center console but at least Audi tells you if you've left it there when you turn off the vehicle. Charging status is displayed on the multimedia screen.
An expansive panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade allows a ton of natural light in.
The black speakers seem a bit understated in the Q7 but the Prestige's 17-speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system is not. It delivers superb sound quality.
Second row passengers get comfy leather seats, their own digital climate controls, USB-C ports, a 12 volt and manual window sunshades. A drop-down center armrest features two small cup holders that extend from the top when tasked to do so. The manual-folding second-row seats easily provide access to the third row -and guess what the 3rd row seats are power-folding too.
As for that third row. So, I've reviewed the Q7 before and at that time felt it was best suited for kids. However, I must now disagree with my own assessment. I do think it can fit adults as well. But just not ones that are very tall. I think the seats are comfortable back there too.
There is a lot of storage space in here, as well as a lot of smaller cup holders that don't look fit for any type of supersizing.
Other standard Prestige features include three zone climate, an LED lighting interior plus feature, a wireless charger, and illuminated door sills.
Cargo space is not an issue in here. It's impressive even with the third row up.
It's a joy to be behind the wheel of the Q7. The 335 horses delivers fantastic acceleration. Optional all-wheel steering takes already confident handling and steering responsiveness up a notch. You can opt for Allroad, Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and Individual modes.
With its standard Comfort adaptive air suspension, the Q7 55 Prestige delivers such an effortlessly smooth and comfortable ride. Its quiet in the cabin, too.
Notably, the Q7 has weight too, it, something I like. It can also handle U-turns well despite its size. The trade-off for all this power and acceleration, and curb weight, of course is that fuel economy isn't wonderful at 20 mpg combined.
Standard Q7 55 safety features include forward collision warning and Automatic Emergency Braking, preventative occupant protection, adaptive cruise assist, lane departure warning, blind spot warning and rear cross traffic warning. There is also exit warning. You can control the level of Advanced Driver Assistance you want through the multimedia system. You can choose maximum, Individual or Basic.
The Prestige package adds a top view camera system, a fantastic Heads Up Display and Traffic Sign Recognition.
The Q7 Prestige is also equipped Audi's Remote Park Assist Plus, but it's not as intuitive as some other systems I've tested.
This model is equipped with the Prestige ($12,100) and Black Optic ($2,100) packages plus a special paint color ($595). Additional options include All-Wheel Steering, ($1,350) and a trailer hitch ($750). Price as equipped is just shy of $84,000 with destination. It's a price that's in line with all it has to offer.
Count me as a fan of the Q7. I love its looks, luxury, tech and performance. It's a luxury SUV I would happily park in my driveway.
