The new all-electric 2024 Kia EV9's list of accolades is growing. Its latest trophy: the "World’s Best Car for 2024" in the Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year awards. The three-row SUV won the honors out of a field of 63 contenders. Kia says judges praised the innovative design, advanced tech and versatility of its new flagship SUV.
The Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY) is made up of 75 women motoring journalists from 52 countries, across five continents. WWCOTY says jurors crowned the EV9 the 2024 best car following in-depth evaluations, citing the EV9's seven-seater capacity, innovative design, advanced teach and exceptional performance as setting new standards in the EV segment. WWOCTY also noted features like bidirectional charging and ultra-fast charging capabilities, saying they set benchmarks for convenience and efficiency. Judges also cited its affordability, user-friendliness, and widespread appeal to a global consumers.
Kia says the award also recognized the three-row SUVs outstanding aerodynamics and advanced technology, along with its family-friendly, spacious, interior and familiar driving experience. Add to all that, it's performance, especially in challenging winter conditions, was also highlighted.

Last year, the Kia Niro was named the ‘World’s Best Car for 2023’ in the awards.
Other EV9 awards and recognitions include North American Utility Vehicle of the Year and MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice “Best EV” award. Popular Science also named it one of the 50 greatest innovations of 2023.
The EV9 is currently one of three finalists for 2024 World Car of the Year, an award that will be handed out at the New York Auto Show later this month.
