We recently shared a list of SUVs with the most cargo space according to iSeeCars. This week, we have another list you'll want to take note of, if fuel economy is top of mind when you're SUV shopping.
iSeeCars recently analyzed SUVs with the best gas mileage in 2023 - ranking them based on the highest mpg and most most fuel-efficient drivetrain for each vehicle. All MPG numbers listed are combined MPG (or MPGe for plug-in electric drivetrains.) The most fuel efficient models are plug-in hybrids, but they cost more too. Researchers say non plug-in hybrids make a popular middle ground since they cost less but still get great gas mileage.
Here's a look at the #1 SUVs for gas mileage by segment:

- Luxury Subcompact: Lexus UX 200 (32 mpg)
- Small and Compact SUV: Nissan Rogue (33)
