As we continue our analysis of new vehicle sales through the first half of this year, today we look at the top 20 models so far. As I told you last week, I am tepid about the numbers due to the CDK computer crash at the end of June that affected 15,000 car dealerships in the United States. There is little doubt the numbers below are actually in reality.
As usual, the F-Series and Silverado captivate the first two spots, and it would appear the Ford trucks will end 2024 once again in the top spot. Ram trucks, which historically are in the third position, this year are being topped by RAV4 and CR-V. In a sign of the times, only 4 sedans made the top 20 list and as usual, Camry, Civic, and Corolla lead the way. You have to drop all the way to 17 to find the remaining sedan, the Nissan Sentra.
