What’s Next?  Sing Karaoke In Your Ford!

Keeping folks entertained in the car is a big focus of automakers these days as they seek to engage occupants with an immersive vehicle experience. One of the ways they are doing that is with in-car gaming. We recently shared that BMW launched Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and UNO in some vehicles.

Now Ford is doing its part by launching in-car Karaoke. It's through the Stingray Karaoke App which will be available first in select 2024 Ford F-150 Lightnings followed by the Mustang Mach-E.

Car occupants can sing their heart out whether parked or on the go - with safety in mind of course.  Lyrics will only be displayed on the in-vehicle screen when the vehicle is parked or charging.

Here is how it works while driving:

  • When the app is launched on the in-vehicle screen, the vehicle will detect if a passenger is buckled and sitting in the front seat and a QR code will appear on the screen.
  • The passenger can use their smartphone to scan the QR code and a webpage will open to control the karaoke experience from their smartphone without having to login to an app.
  • Passengers can add songs to their playlist, change songs, view scrolling lyrics and utilize the vehicle’s audio system.

Ford says there's a wide selection of songs and music styles to choose from, including Rock, Country, Pop, R&B, Latin, K&J Pop and family-friendly tunes for all ages. Songs are available in 38 languages, including 10 languages in local characters such as Thai, Hebrew, Russian and Greek, plus a multilingual interface with 36 languages available.

Eligible 2024 F-150 Lightning owners will be the first to get the Stingray Karaoke app in a software update, followed by Mustang Mach-E owners where vehicles are available in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe.

The app is also coming soon to the Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience,  where it will be accessible in other vehicles including the 2025 Ford Explorer, 2025 Lincoln Navigator, 2025 Lincoln Aviator and 2025 Lincoln Nautilus.
